The full musical score to Promises.
This Score is a transcription of the recording of Promises that took place in Los Angeles in the Summer of 2019. The score contains technical and performance notes as well as the complete scores for all nine movements: tenor saxophone, celesta, piano, harpsichord I, harpsichord II, Hammond B3, Fender Rhodes, Solina, Therevox, ARP 2600, OB8, sub bass (SEM), Binson Deay, violin I, violin II, violin III, viola, cello, and double bass.
The elements in the original recording are presented as played, but the overall effect may be inaudible in the recording. The mix plays an integral part in the overall piece, and should be kept in mind when performing. Lara Serafin transcribed the recordings from the LA session and those are presented here alongside the strings recorded in London in the Summer of 2020.
The score is 9” (width) x 12” (length), printed on 100gsm paper, and contains a pullout for the Tenor Sax part, as performed by the late great Pharaoh Sanders.
